The D1A Playoffs are scheduled to begin on April 14, with matchups and locations pending until all D1A conference play has concluded. Indiana has reached consecutive quarterfinals with defeats to Lindenwood and BYU. This year’s tournament has expanded to 16 teams, and the semifinal and final will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
Following the conclusion of the fifteens playoffs, the Hoosiers will focus on sevens and preparation for the USA 7’s Collegiate Rugby Championship in Philadelphia. After qualifying for the 2015 CRC with a Big Ten Sevens Championship victory, IU has now received an automatic bid to the tournament in three successive seasons. In 2017 Indiana advanced to the semifinal and fell to defending champions Cal 29-14. The tournament’s partnership with NBC has expired, and this year’s CRC will be broadcast by ESPN.
